Her films have won multiple awards and been recognized in festivals like the IFFI, Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, Kolkata International Film Festival, Woodpecker, Jeevika Film Festival, CMS Vatavaran, and several others. With her boundless energy and natural leadership abilities, Ishani K Dutta is at the heart of Carrot Films. Coming across as an ‘activist’ in the garb of a ‘film-maker’, she keeps herself consistently updated with the latest developments in the sector, making her the resident content expert.

Director Statement

This is a deeply personal and socially conscious project that aims to bring attention to the critical issue of pollution in the Yamuna River. Through the Clouds Below, I am driven to expose the harsh reality faced by the river and the communities that depend on it for their livelihoods. This film will also offer a glimmer of hope by highlighting potential solutions and initiatives that can restore its glory.

My goal is to immerse the viewers in the foam-covered waters of the Yamuna, depicting the stark contrast between its rich heritage and its polluted present.

I aim to inspire the viewers to take action and become catalysts for change and not only raise awareness about the challenges faced by the Yamuna.

Together with my talented team, I am dedicated to creating a captivating and impactful cinematic experience that prompts reflection, sparks dialogue, and inspire a collective effort to restore the Yamuna River to its rightful place as a lifeline of cultural heritage and environmental well-being.

I hope to foster a collective understanding of the vital importance of preserving our natural resources and encourage sustainable practices for the benefit of future generations.
