Enes Polat was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in November 2004. He graduated from Vefa High School in 2022. In the same year, he started writing his first film, "The Climb." Filming for the movie was completed in March 2023.
The movie "The Climb" addresses the unjust and disorderly system that humanity finds itself in. We are born into this system and must struggle to climb up the ranks. There is no bottom or top level; there is always something better or worse. Even if we are in a good position, human nature's dissatisfaction will always want more. In this process, we will see those around us as competitors. In the eyes of the system, each person is indistinguishable from the others, all contributing to feeding the system.
The film will progress on the imagery of the Hill, which symbolizes this system. The focus will be more on the uncertainty and injustice of the system than the conflict between the main character and the person he encounters. Camera techniques will be used to highlight the difference between someone who is experienced with the system and someone who is inexperienced. As this system is part of our lives, we will not use any artificial lighting.
