Hannah is a sophomore, and Enrique is a senior at Shawnee Mission South High School. They are both in Spanish 4 and have been friends since 3rd grade.

"La Clase" has two meanings. The first being the social class that divides Enrique and Camila. The second being the school class that unites the two coming from different backgrounds.
