The Circle of Honor
Retired American counter-admiral Robert Lunney tells his life story through the lives of three people, which he admired. They marked his life, as through them the story about God's love and affection for the neighbor is told. During the Second World War in the Pacific, Lunney learned about the story of Peter Tomich, who has been honored with the highest American honors, a Congressional Medal of Honor. Leading his own people with his own example and sacrificing life, Tomich has saved the lives of many sailors from the USS Utah which was sunk by torpedoes during Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Admiral Lunney searched for his descendants in Croatia so that his distinction after half a century would be rendered. Another character is the Japanese officer Morimoto, who was captured at the end of the war and with whom he became a close friend of the angry enemy. The last figure of Captain La Rue was his commander on Meredith Victory merchant ship with whom they served in the Korean War and participated in the largest maritime evacuation in history. In the eve of evacuation of Hungnam, Captain La Rue drove over 14.000 North Korean refugees, which later entered the Guinness Book of Records, and on Christmas 1950 alone, he evacuated them through minefields and shaky sea to safety, saving them from certain death.
