The Case of Valdemar (Excerpt from Tales of the Grotesque)

A doctor places a man on his deathbed under hypnosis in this short, The Case of Valdemar (Il Caso Valdemar) taken from the upcoming silent Edgar Allan Poe anthology film Tales of the Grotesque. The Case of Valdemar, which is perhaps the first Italian gore film, gets a modern update in the tradition of Luigi Cozzi's Cozzilla and Giorgio Moroder's Metropolis. Psychedelic tinting/colorization and now featuring a 60fps framerate, the short features music by Italian musician Piergiuseppe Ciranna of the band Ruins, as well as Pennsylvania musician Rhäzüns.
