Shakib Hossain, a film enthusiast from the very beginning of his childhood, decided to become a filmmaker. He currently is studying in The Department of Television, Film and Photography in the University of Dhaka. He dreams to make the Bangladeshi Film Industry acceptable and well received around the world. He loves thrillers most.
As a film enthusiast, I had always wanted to become a filmmaker from my very childhood. In my country, parents have a tendency to make their child either a doctor or engineer. Filmmaker as a profession is not that respected in Bangladesh. But still, I pursued what I wanted to pursue. So, I got admitted into The Department of Television, Film and Photography in University of Dhaka. In my second semester, our course instructor Saiyeed Shahjada Al Kareem Sir gave us an assignment of making a short film. Most of my fellow classmates made films just to get 10 marks in the course. But I always wanted to start the beginning of my filmmaking journey. I wanted to be a part of actual filmmaking rather than theoretical approaches to such a beautiful as well as powerful medium. So, I decided to take challenges. I knew it from the beginning that I don't have trained actors. All the casts of the film are my classmates. I also knew that I don't have high end technology. Still, I just wanted to start and enjoy the journey rather than worrying about the result. So, we started with literally zero budget. You will be surprised to know the whole film's sound is actually recorded in the smartphones. That's why you may notice that my casts are actually always carrying a smartphone in their hand. I also did not have enough money to buy an ND filter. So, some of my night shots are overexposed because due to our tight schedule we had to shoot those night scenes in the morning (9am). I also edited the whole film in a low end laptop. I know, there are a lot of faults in the film. Honestly, I myself knew many of them but I didn't have any choice to skip them due to many reasons. One primary reason would be the lack of time of the people who (actors) helped me in the film. However, I still love the film. Maybe because it is my first film. Hope you all will love it all too. Happy Watching!!!
