Based between Stockholm and Dublin, Dennis makes non-fiction cinema about migration, identity and bureaucracy. With a cinema vérité approach and a particular sensitivity to the human, his work interrogates the political through the personal. He is a member of Noncitizen, a film collective which works to hand over the means of making films to migrants. His films have received multiple awards, screened at festivals around the world, and received theatrical distribution in Sweden and Ireland.
I see my duty as a filmmaker as follows:
Make films that visualise, explain and contextualise both the inequalities and the pockets of resistance in our world.
Be an accomplice, rather than an ally, to those subject to injustice. Stand together in a shared struggle, never stand back.
Push the possibilities of cinematic and narrative language. Stay curious, and unafraid.
