Director Biography - Nishantha Uyangoda Jayathilaka

Nishantha Uyangoda Jayathilake who was born in Harasgama, Mathale enters the field of art as a dramatist. “Marriage of the Dramatist”, “Fooled Beautifully” and, “Give Me the Surname”, are the first three liberal short dramas he wrote and directed. Further, he also wrote and directed the lengthy liberal dramas; “Don’t You Let Me Write Poems?” and “Not Toys”.
He has been awarded for the Grand Liberal Piece of Writing and the Grand Drama Directing at a National State Awarding Ceremony, Sri Lanka. He has also won the Special Youth District Award for acting, awarded by the jury.
The song, “Robinhood is Cheap” was written and sung by Nishantha Uyangoda Jayathilake. The melody for this song was composed by a finest musician in Sri Lanka, Mr. Nawarathna Gamage.

This is his first and foremost short film.

Director Statement

“The camera angles throughout the film “Breakdown” aren’t my favorites nor anybody else’s. But, they truly depend on the content of the above film.”
“I have to imply the same thing about the lively raw materials who give breath to the characters in the film.”
“I chose a creative cameraman who studies the script in deep instead of a person who murmurs only about the visual beauty and picture quality”.
