Director Biography - Ken Rudnick

Born in Los Angeles means two things for Ken Rudnick: one, he says “the” when referring to freeway names, and, two, he’s never really grown up. Ken started in sketch comedy at The Second City Hollywood and was showrunner of a premium sketch comedy show that ran for 6 months on the mainstage. Ken continued comedy by writing a spec BLACK-ISH, “A Star is Boring,” which placed in the TOP 10 of the 2016 UCLA Writers’ Program TV Script Contest. Ken most recently worked on FRESH OFF THE BOAT as writer support staff and continues to develop creative comedic content that helps the world! Or at least makes us laugh at it.

Director Statement

I'm so glad to have the opportunity to work on a production with such talented individuals. It takes a team, and especially when it's such a small one, and I want to thank everyone who gave feedback and who helped shape this project. It was a freakin' joy to shoot in the location of one of my favorite movies ever!! Uh, and I guess I'll finish with a quote cause that's what directors do right? ""Embrace the absurd and laugh at it" - Alfred Camus would've said basically" - Ken
