Director Statement

We all live in a society that constantly tries to tell you who they think you are. There is so much noise around and within us that we lose touch with our true voice. So what's the point of being someone we’re not? This is what initially drew me to this story.
“The Bohemian Stream” tells the story of a white-collar worker, who travels to a mellow paradise Arambol—a village situated in Goa. But instead of finding peace, his mind is constantly confronted by a traumatic event from his overworked city life. Hence, the hero must discover his Bohemian Stream before it’s too late.
One thing I felt strongly about was that I wanted to show the character's shifting tones during the stages of his spiritual awakening and also establish Arambol as a character of its own. Hence, I accentuated the film’s music to show this relationship. We produced original music using a djembe and a guitar to create the authentic Goan feeling and have its own creative language.
The balancing between the hero’s spiritual thoughts and the bohemian feel that Arambol embodied was something I strived for—trying to keep the film visceral in its emotion and arc. I hope an audience finds the film satisfying because I want the film to make them aware about the power of being who you authentically are at a core level. Because once you learn how to find your Bohemian Stream, your life will start flowing beautifully.
