Director Biography - Sandra Sánchez

Sandra Sanchez has an extensive career as editor and director.

After directing several documentaries and TV series, in 2011 she premiered her first feature film, Tralas Luces (Behind the lights), a very personal project in which she worked for four years, and where she assumed the direction, scriptwritting, editing and DOP. It was premiered in the San Sebastian Film Festival (Zabaltegi New Directors) and it was also released in cinemas that year all across the country.

She has edited films such as Esquece Monelos (Forget no river), by Ángeles Huerta, Migas de pan (Breadcrumbs), by Manane Rodríguez, or Rafael, de Xavier Bermúdez, among others. Currently works in the Audiovisual Production Lab of A Coruña’s Science Museums, and she’s also writing the script of her next feature film, La Nadadora (The swimmer), a project closely related to A nena azul (The Blue Child). Both films have actually the same main character, a girl called Sira (an eight year old child in the short film and a fifteen year old teenager in the feature)
