The Black Sphere
While dealing with the loss of a loved one, a young man named Tyler is suddenly tasked with helping an alien, who has psychic powers, find his spaceship. Their journey is met with surprising moments of wholesome bonding, but also with sudden moments of brutality. As Tyler realizes what he must do to move forward, his discovery points to the fact that everything may not be what it seems.

Tristan Reed is a 23 year old filmmaker from the small town of Hebron, KY. After high school, he attended Indiana University and was accepted into the BFA program for Cinematic Arts. Tristan crafted his short thesis film "The Black Sphere" during his last year in this program, and it now rides the wave of the film festival circuit.
Now a college graduate, Tristan has directed, edited, produced, and even starred in dozens of projects generally residing in the horror/sci-fi genre. He is now in post-production on his first horror feature film titled, "The Depths", starring Eric Roberts.
I read somewhere that if you see a "dark circular object" in your dreams, it signals a moment of self realization and motivates one to take the path towards repairing their spiritual state. So, I made a story centered on that idea and threw in a talking alien with some special FX.
I made this film as my thesis for Indiana University's BFA Cinematic Arts program, shooting entirely around Bloomington, IN while collaborating with other students.
