The Bittersweet Comedy of Losing

Simge (27) performs stand-up shows in the evening at the bar where she waits tables during the day. She left law school to become a comedian. Therefore, she was separated from her family, especially her father. One night when she finishes her shift and starts a stand-up show, she sees her father, whom she hasn't seen in years. Even though she wants to continue her routine, she cannot continue because she is distracted by her father. She starts talking about her family and her relationship with them. On the one hand, her eyes are on her father and a non-verbal dialogue starts between them. For the first time in her life, Simge speaks of something real. She confronts her father and then herself. The stand-up scene first turns into a psychologist's chair and then into a confessional booth.
