The Birth Of Kennedy

The spirit of the American President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1963, resurrects in Mahmut Haklıgör's body. The entire neighborhood sincerely believes that he is Kennedy. Kennedy Mahmut is currently a vegetable transporter and also plays the organ at weddings. The perspective of the director's neighborhood and his colleagues on this reincarnation event and Mahmut Bey's colorful life are the subject of the documentary.The story is told in a natural language and from a participant-observer perspective. The documentary "The Birth of Kennedy" is about Mahmut Bey's journey to becoming a Kennedy and the stance of his people on this journey.

Director Biography - Gülben Arıcı

İsmim Gülben Arıcı. 1997 yılında Adana’da doğdum. Çukurova Üniversitesi, İletişim Fakültesi Radyo, Televizyon ve Sinema Bölümü’nden mezun oldum. Okul süresince birçok kısa film ve belgesel çekimine dahil oldum. Daha önce bir kısa kurmaca film ve dört kısa belgesel film çektim. 2020-2021 yılları arasında reklam ve sinema filmlerinde reji asistanlığı yaptım. Şimdi ise Avrupa Birliği destekli Adana Sinema Mirası araştırma projesinde saha personeli olarak çalışmaktayım.

I am Gülben Arıcı. I was born in Adana in 1997. I graduated from Çukurova University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. During my education, I was involved in shooting many short films and documentaries. I shot one short fictional film and four short documentary films before. Between 2020-2021, I worked as a director assistant in commercials and movies. Now I am working as a field staff in the Adana Cinema Heritage research project supported by the European Union.
