Director Statement

My motive in making โ€œThe Big Nobodyโ€ was to make Montyโ€™s search for a sense of belonging and purpose, as vulnerable and accessible as possible. My vision was to create a satirical world of Brooklyn hipster culture, in the vain of โ€œZoolanderโ€, while still fleshing out the relationships as much as we could and really treating this buddy-comedy script like a character study.
I found it to be very unique that Olga had initially written the lead part as male, and then decided to play it herself without making any rewrites. It was a bold and exciting choice and really makes one feel that we can all do whatever we want to.
This film is for anyone whoโ€™s ever wanted to be a somebody, and felt like they are not living up to their full potential. Itโ€™s a story that we can all identify with, and a story worth telling.
