Director Biography - Julio López Fernández

Director and film producer of Mexican-Salvadoran nationality. He has produced and directed audiovisual projects in all the countries of Central America and Mexico.

As director, his first feature is the documentary The battle of the volcano. He is the Salvadoran director of the Central American collective film Days of light, in post-production stage.

His filmography as a producer included the feature films The room of bones, The Offended and Comandos, directed by Marcela Zamora; The Swirl, directed by Laura Herrero, Heiress of the Wind, directed by Gloria Carrión (associate production), the short film Absences, directed by Tatiana Huezo, (winner of the Ariel Award for Mexican Short Film, 2016) and Life is gone, compañera, directed by Mariana Rivera, winner of Ibermedia DOCTV Mexico in 2017. All these documentaries have been screened and / or awarded at international festivals.

He has participated in meetings of filmmakers such as the Talent Campus of the Berlinale (2013), Emerging Producers of Jihlava IDFF (2016), Doculab of the FICG (2017) or IDFAcademy (2017).
