Tyler (he/him) is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker who challenges harmful definitions of masculinity in his work, exploring vulnerability and healthy relationships on screen. Drawing from his own fears and insecurities, His characters often react irrationally to life's challenges, highlighting the complexity of human behavior. He aims to showcase healthy growth in relationships both emotionally and physically.
Tyler’s visual style includes unbalanced frames, high-contrast lighting, and warm, vibrant color palettes that communicate his themes. Tyler earned his BA in film production from CSU Sacramento and an MFA from Loyola Marymount University.
As a filmmaker, I am dedicated to exploring the intricacies of human relationships and the multifaceted nature of masculinity. Through my work, I aim to deconstruct traditional notions of masculinity, highlighting the harm they can cause and replacing them with values such as vulnerability, kindness, and a capacity for love.
My films often draw on personal experiences and insecurities, exploring the depths of the human condition with a focus on themes such as regret, fear, and love. Through my work, I aim to challenge conventional notions of what it means to be a man, and how this can impact individuals and communities.
Visually, I strive to create a unique style that supports the narrative, using unbalanced compositions, high-contrast lighting, and warm, vibrant color palettes to communicate themes in a visually striking way.
Ultimately, my goal as a filmmaker is to create work that promotes healthy growth and positive change, both within relationships and in society at large. By showcasing the importance of vulnerability and human connection, I hope to inspire audiences to challenge preconceived notions of masculinity and embrace a more compassionate and empathetic view of the world.
