Director Biography - Zheng Yunchang

Yunchang Zheng is an emerging Chinese director, born in Tangshan. The collective memory of the 1976 earthquake profoundly shaped his creative perspective.
His early scientific aspirations fueled his persistent inquiry into the essence of the world, while the magic of cinematic art ultimately guided him onto the path of creative expression.
Early in his career, working as a film editor with renowned director Gu Changwei, he honed his skills and brought this professional rigor to his own directorial work.
His debut feature film, set against the backdrop of his hometown Tangshan, elevates personal memories into a reflection of collective historical experience. Currently, he is preparing his ambitious "Farewell Trilogy" (Mother/Home/Earth), which employs distinctive visual aesthetics to explore humanity's ultimate existential questions.
His works blend raw realism with philosophical depth, weaving intimate narratives into a grand tapestry of humanistic reflection.
