Samantha Bozin is a professional actor, filmmaker, and writer based in New York City! Her previous writing credits include the short films Life in a Vial (2020; nominee at Colorado International Activism Film Fest) and Dangerous Discourse (2020; winner at BIMFF and Andromeda Film Fest), which have both been adapted for the screen, as well as the short LGBTQ+ screenplays, The Alpha Complex (2021; nominee at Hollywood Art and Movie Awards and Quarter-Finalist at Scriptation Showcase) and It's Tom's Turn (2021). Samantha's work is usually centered around LGBTQ+ romance, healthcare accessibility issues, domestic violence, and social change, as these topics are very personal to her. While Samantha is passionate about many aspects of the arts, she has truly fallen in love with screenwriting and hopes to continue to write scripts for many years to come!
The Alpha Complex is a short film I wrote based on the final monologue in the script. I wrote the monologue after getting into a fight with my significant other, and I had all these intense feelings, so I just put them into words. Once I wrote that monologue, I knew I had to create a full script based around it because it felt so relatable, so authentic, and so important to me. So, that's how I wrote The Alpha Complex! It's such a passionate story with strong characters and relatable themes, and I truly hope you enjoy it.
