The Agency (Script)

Conceived whilst in prison by an inmate named Tony, the idea of a criminal organisation come theatrical agency, becomes a reality upon his release. In a relatively short time Tony is “retired” and Jenny his assistant, who works for a covert government outfit, takes over. Recently released from prison, violent ex cons Mickey and Jimmy, associates of Tony, both wanna be actors, are simultaneously employed as criminals/Thespians according to what jobs become available.

Mickey has a long time association with Holly, one of the Agency’s clients, a talented actress who moonlights as a female escort to earn extra cash. Jimmy, in spite of his flamboyant manner and outrageously gay remarks has a good working relationship with Mickey and considers him a close friend. A tale of crime, friendship, cover ups, involving art theft, sex, bikie gangs, sweat shops, human trafficking, buggery and Russian mafia.

Mickey and Jimmy, with the help of ambitious actress/escort Holly, learn that retribution isn’t always that easy.

CHARACTERS
JIMMY is a flamboyant thirty something unashamed gay Asian psychopath. He has aspirations to be a star or comedian; lives alone with his cat Jizm, and works with Mickey on assignments. Their relationship, in spite of the nature of the work is one of trust and taking the piss out of each other. Orphaned at the age of five and shuttled from one foster home to another, he’s learned to roll with the punches. Jailed for assault causing injury.

MICKEY is an ex army, gritty dour Scot, born in Glasgow and turned crim when he left the service. Imprisoned for armed robbery and manslaughter;
his heritage dates back to the twelfth century and makes him last in line to claim the title of Chief of the Clan Buchanan if he returns to Scotland. He was a weapons and explosives instructor in the army. Although he ribs Jimmy about his homosexuality he considers him a reliable partner and would go out of his way to help if he was in trouble. Has a soft spot for Holly and was a friend of her father.

HOLLY an attractive thirty two year old divorced woman lives with her mother and young daughter; works as an escort and actress and known Mickey from a young girl. She’s been waiting for that special break and would do anything to get a chance. She looks to Mickey if she needs help.

PAXTON a sleazy sexually perverted producer, whose sole ambition is to bed as many women as he can, uses his position as a film producer to indulge his inclinations.

JENNY is employed with an unlisted government organisation that “ties up loose ends “ and has had experience in theatre. She presents a motherly front and portrays her roll well as an agent but beneath this exterior lies a strong willed tough woman. She looks after her clients and allocates both theatrical and criminal jobs, more the latter for Jimmy and Mickey.

TONY the founder of the Agency spent time behind bars in company with Mickey and Jimmy; here he conceived the idea of representing actors taken from the pool of cons to add a realistic touch to their performance. The agency comes under scrutiny from a government department and Tony is removed on a trumped up charge and Jenny installed in his stead. The clients on the books are unaware they are working for the government.

MARIO an old school cop, has a cynical attitude to his line of work, has seen it all but still hangs on to the idea that justice should be seen to be done. Has no time for those who break the law and regards both MICKEY and JIMMY as a candidate for a long prison sentence.

HAKIM, young recently promoted to detective, sees MARIO as a mentor; naïve but enthusiastic. Willing to learn the ropes and make a career in the police force.
