Anna Fitzgerald is a New York City based bassoonist. Performing everywhere from Carnegie Hall and the American Museum of Natural History to Rikers Island, their dynamic career has included playing with AJR, The Chelsea Symphony, Kansas, and others whom she certainly feels guilty about forgetting in this moment.
Having retired from a successful competitive career as a Premier Highland Dancer, Fitz is a Certified Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing and a Dancer with Shot of Scotch.
Fitz is a co-creator of The Pocket Dimension, a network of tabletop gaming centered YouTube programming and podcasts, as well as “The Adventures of Bud & Herb,” a fictional podcast that blurs the lines between audio drama and Dungeons & Dragons actual play.
Evan Bivins is a recovering rock musician best known for playing drums and writing songs with influential indie band Jump, Little Children. Over his career, Evan has played with renowned artists such as Duncan Sheik and Cary Ann Hearst of Shovels and Rope. Today, he’s the Creative Director of Bivins Brothers Creative, a small web design studio and co-creator of The Pocket Dimension, a network dedicated to bringing high-quality, short form fiction and actual play content to YouTube and podcast outlets near you.
As the co-creator of "The Adventures of Bud & Herb," he combines his love for storytelling and design to bring listeners on a weird and wild journey through the Mysteries of the Verdant Valley.
When we set out to create The Adventures of Bud & Herb, we wanted to craft something truly unique—a show that could bridge the gap between actual play podcasts and audio fiction, blending the immersive drama of a scripted narrative with the unpredictable thrill of a game. What emerged was a format unlike anything we’d seen in the world of tabletop role-playing content.
Most actual play podcasts are long-form, sprawling epics that can take hundreds of hours to finish. While we love that style, we wanted Bud & Herb to stand apart by embracing brevity without sacrificing depth. Each episode is tightly paced and binge-able, and the entire first season was designed to be consumed as a complete story in just a few hours. By starting the story in a fully scripted audio drama format and transitioning to an actual play narrative halfway through, we gave ourselves—and our audience—a fresh way to experience collaborative storytelling. As creators, even we didn’t know how the season would resolve, and the thrill of discovery alongside our listeners has been one of the most rewarding parts of this process.
At its core, The Adventures of Bud & Herb is a celebration of storytelling in all its forms. It’s comedic, heartfelt, and adventurous—a mystery that unfolds not just through the game but through the relationships of its characters and the creative voices of everyone involved. We’re so proud to share this experiment with the world and excited to see how it continues to inspire and entertain.
