Writer Statement

The Adventures of Harris & Jermaine is a dark and off-beat modern re-telling of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” Incorporating life post-Covid, themes of mental health, the importance of friendships, and the all-too-common dissolution of marriage in the face of expectations, “The Adventures of Harris & Jermaine” dares to introspect on a man’s self-awareness. Coming to terms with what happens when one truly misses the mark in life, “The Adventures of Harris & Jermaine” asks the audience —and Jermaine himself— two important questions: What happens when you come face to face with your failures? And what does it take to move on?
