Georges de Rays, a wealthy and famous orchestra conductor, marries his 7th wife, Diane, within the walls of his medieval castle.
Inspite of all the finery, his gifts and kindness, she still awaits her husband’s first night visit.
As her sense of loss grows and her touch with reality diminishes, she disobeys her husband…

Director Biography - Stéphane Guénin

Stéphane Guénin is an award-winning director, member of ARP and SACD.

After a doctorate in law obtained at the University of PaPanthéon-Assas, he worked with a film product placement company (Film Media Consultant) and participated in the production of international feature films such as goldeneye or Ronin.

In 2000, he created his production company while joining the Literary and Artistic Property department of a Parisian law firm.
In 2003, he produced, wrote and directed his first feature film entitled The 7th Lie (Le 7ème Mensonge) which was theatrically released in France on 11/2/2005 after a stunning career in international festivals (Savannah International Film Festival, Sarlat, Paris IDF, Dakar).

Between 2001 and 2022, he directed, co-directed, wrote and produced with Matisse Films 18 films of short and feature film which to date have more than 300 selections and awards at international festivals.

On December 15, 2015, the second feature film produced, written and directed by Stéphane Guénin, entitled The Assignment 1.0. (L'Engagement 1.0.) which was presented at the AFM in World Premiere and at the Berlinale, Panorama section, in European Premiere.

2020 marks the production of the third feature film written and directed by Stéphane Guénin, produced by Matisse Films in co-production with its Italian and American partners tittled Hard Skills.

Director Statement

The 7th Lie was my fisrt feature film, coproduced between France and the USA and post produced at Technicolor, LA.A. What a cgreat memory working there and bringing over the filmm just completed to the Savannah Film Festival.
