Born and raised in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Amanda Marino has always had a passion for the arts. Amanda first started her journey singing at her school talent show at 8 years old. From there, she grew to start doing theatre and even played in few bands singing/playing the bass guitar. After graduating high school, she went to college to study theatre. Although she was set on this path she learned other avenues including film, which she fell in love with. During her college career she worked on about 40 short films as an actor and crew member. Through this experience she gained a lot of knowledge and learned she had a passion for film. She graduated Montclair State University in 2021 and now works as a production coordinator.
As a first time director, I was never worried about bringing this film to life because I knew this was an important story to tell. My main focus during the filmmaking process was to make sure everyone was comfortable with the material and that we told this story authentically. I also was really set on how I can frame this story reach audiences that may have faced some of the realities in this film. I felt so inspired to make this film to show people that you're not alone and help is never a bad thing. Even if I only reach one person with this film, I will have felt that I achieved my goal with this short.
