That is the Silence
Having been pulled in two different directions one wants to make a loud statement and a desire to be somebody while also wanting to walk a silent path and be content with nothing.

Born on 8 April 1992 in Moscow, Russia. She is a director and editor known for Alien Numbers and That is The Silence. Mostly focusing on a documentary work she explores the themes of immigration and the role of introspection in life. Currently resides in the United States.
She found herself in filmmaking as the way to express ideas and perspectives on many things such as social issues, human rights, moral dilemmas through visual storytelling with a keen focus on aesthetics. Her work reflects the way she looks at the world despite any social or artistic norms, rules, and practices.
In my work I explore the inner world of a character, a human connection to nature and music, and execute it in a form of experimental non-fiction films. My latest work That is the Silence tells a story of how one must uproot themselves from the daily routine so that they can see better what doesn’t serve them anymore - not to run away from but to get closer to yourself. Having been shot in Alaska and New York City it depicts vividly the difference of two completely opposite environments.
I see constant changes in the ways stories are being told – I am enjoying finding my voice in this important conversation that shapes our lives. I enjoy independent cinema as it always has a raw unconventional outlook on life and plan on continuing my deep exploration of immigration and questioning things to stay true to myself. Filmmaking is a form of art, and a good filmmaker is an artist who is also an observer, an explorer, and an investigator. I feel commitment to tell the stories as they are and offer a formal exploration yet to preserve space for hope and for revelation of something, a truth that would touch people’s hearts and give all of us a sense of belonging.
