Director Biography

S.M.C. Silva (born 1994) is a Film Director, Scriptwriter and Producer with roots from Sri Lanka and Trinidad. He is a direct descendant from the Rebel King in Sri Lanka, Veera Puran Appu, and this noble ancestry holds strongly in his heart and creative energies.

S.M.C. began his artistic journey through creating commercial content with worldwide icons; but then powerfully transitioned into film directing in order to best realise his truest destiny in life – to entertain the universe through his cinematic creations, imbue magnificent messages within the art and champion the diversity of his inherited cultures and those radiating around him.

He proudly announces his name and art into the annals of music video legacy, through his music film: ‘Tha Joint’.

As a major fan of Herbie Hancock as well as The Isley Brothers, it was an absolute honour when S.M.C. was asked by Thin Blue Collective to create a music video for their gripping new track!

In this piece, S.M.C. unfurls the elements of his soon to be iconic style: through exploring the mystery of a dreamy land with his surrealist and visceral visual style imbibed with a mystical and spiritual narrative!
