2017 Texas Christian Film Festival
Short Film Competition Rules and Terms
We are excited that you are considering submission of your short film to the 2017 Texas Christian Film Festival. Our goal is to encourage excellence in filmmaking while also supporting Christian values. Please read the rules and terms before you submit your work. Texas Christian Film Festival reserves the right to reject any submission.
1. Entries should be submitted under one of the following four theme categories: Reconciliation, Hope, Healing or Joy. Additionally, each entry should cite a specific Scripture (one of the examples provided or one of the filmmaker’s own) that was an inspiration for the film short.
2. Entries will be judged in the following areas, each rated on a scale of one to five with the highest cumulative score winning that category: 1) Adherence to theme, 2) Demonstration of inspirational scripture or Christian values, 3) Film production, and 4) Story. Awards will include: Best of Category, Audience favorite, and Best of Festival.
3. Entries must be 12 minutes or less.
4. Multiple entries are allowed from a filmmaker or filmmaker team.
5. Entries must be submitted by Friday, November 4, 2016.
6. Online screeners are required. The preferred method of submission is through FilmFreeway.com/festival/TexasChristianFilmFestival. If you choose not to upload your project to FilmFreeway’s site, please provide an online link to your submission and be sure to include the password in an email correspondence sent directly to filmshort2017@bethanycc.org. If you choose to send a DVD screener as well, please format it in NTSC, label the cover with the FilmFreeway Tracking ID, film title, filmmaker name, email address and telephone number, and forward it to the Texas Christian Film Festival, c/o Bethany Christian Church, 3223 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77098.
7. Each entry should include a slate on the head indicating the theme and scripture which inspired the entry along with filmmaker(s) name, film title and running time,
8. Texas Christian Film Festival does not download submissions or accept Dropbox submissions. Please only send links to your media hosted on 3rd party servers such as Vimeo or YouTube.
9. Submissions not in English must be subtitled.
10. DVD Entries will not be returned.
11. Submissions with:
a. nudity or scant clothing
b. excessive violence
c. profanity
will not be considered.
