Tethered
Ever feel like you’re being pulled from one place to another?
In this captivating film, we follow the journey of our protagonist, Boyd (Bayden Slavik), as he grapples with the challenges of balancing his roles as a farmer, visual artist, and boyfriend. Using a unique analogy of being tethered by a rope, we witness Boyd being pulled from scene to scene, symbolizing the constant struggle to meet expectations and fulfill obligations.
As the story unfolds, the film delves into the universal theme of finding harmony between one's obligations and personal passions. Boyd's quest highlights the significance of preserving mental well-being while navigating the complexities of life. Through his experiences, the movie offers a profound reflection on the pursuit of a balanced and fulfilling life.

Born in raised in Austin Texas, Sawyer Staloch has been infected with stories at a young age. He is a Visual Media Arts Major at Emerson College in Boston, MA. Recently Working on SXSW films like "The Long Game" to independent shorts like "Here to make friends"; if adventure is there, Sawyer is right behind! Tethered is his first festival submission, but certainly not his last.
To me, Tethered is a daily reminder that no matter who you are, life will swing around like a rag doll every once in a while. There's no way around it! However, I'm glad it does. Without the challenges, life wouldn't be the fun rollercoaster it is. And boy, do I love rollercoasters. As "JJ" would say, "Don't find your piece, make it". Honored to have worked on this project with an incredible cast and crew.
