My name is Terri Walker Pullen, and I am a visual artist local to the Raleigh, North Carolina area. I have been illustrating all my life drawing comic book stories as a child and developing my talent into fine paintings and illustrations throughout the years. My favorite mediums are acrylics, watercolors, pastels, and colored pencils. The subject matter I most enjoy creating includes, but is not limited to; figurative images, oceanic illustrations, nature & wildlife, and special moments in time that reflect people enjoying life.
My works of art include several paintings having been installed in art galleries at the Wake Forest Baptist University Health Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2021-22, curated by Sharon Grubbs and Jan Curling. I have also displayed paintings at the READ WRITE SPELL fundraiser art show, in November 2021, also located in Winston-Salem.
I was a selected artist for the Garner Art Around Town Project in Garner, NC in 2021, curated by Mari Howe. My painting titled Historic Caboose, 3' x 4' acrylic, was installed in the city of Garner for the project that was displayed from August to November. This painting won the silent auction being purchased by the Garner Historic Society Organization and now resides in the Garner Historic Depot Museum, Garner, NC.
Art shows where I have exhibited other watercolor and acrylic paintings were at the Garner Performing Arts Center (GPAC), Garner, NC, Black History Month 2020 Visions Past and Present curated by Visual Artist, LeGrant Taylor. This art show was a televised recorded event and YouTube Videotaped. I have also displayed artwork illustrations at the Hytai Heritage Cultural Center in Durham, NC. I have exhibited in South Hill, Virginia at the Colonial Center for Performing Arts, and will conduct a solo exhibit in June, 2024 at the Garner Performing Arts Center, Garner, NC.
My inspiration comes from special moments in time whether those moments originate from photography, live events happening within my community, or fond childhood memories. While illustrating, my goal is to capture subjects as beautiful in design, as they are in real life.
I have been a naturally gifted visual artist since birth. My ability to draw, paint, and design art comes from Almighty God. He has helped me develop my talents and skills throughout the years. I am grateful for a gift that allows me to create art for people to enjoy pleasant viewing experiences.
However, other business skills and credentials include formal education earned through a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, from Strayer University, Raleigh, NC, and a master’s degree in Information Technology, from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCAT), Greensboro, NC.

My goal is to use my art talents to uplift the human spirit while producing pleasant viewing experiences. When painting with brushes, I typically use brush stroke techniques such as dry brush, crosshatch, dabbing, and wet on wet, to name a few.
