Ten Thousand Poems

故事的灵感源于两年前在北京⽹约⻋⻋后窗的⼀瞥：⼀个建筑⼯⼈站在⼀座⼩桥上，将⼿⾥的纸撕成碎⽚并扔向河中。由此，结合创作团队集体的童年回忆，⼈物在脑海⾥⽣根发芽，“诗⼈⽗亲”和“留守⼉童”的形象逐渐明朗。也由此，我们在两年前拍摄了⼀个名叫《⼀万⾸诗》的短⽚，希望能够讲⼀个没有眼泪的，天真烂漫的，不悲情的留守⼉童的故事。然⽽，两年前缺乏经验的我们的尝试并不成功，在剪辑后我们发现故事似乎并不如我们所想象得那样鲜活和真实。在2年的学习和重新构思后，我重新编写了2版剧本，并集合同样的成员，开始了⼀次全新的拍摄。这⼀次拍摄的两个版本，故事的开始是⼀样的，⽽最终的⾛向却完全不⼀致，⼀个故事⾥这个孩⼦跟着爸爸⾛进了城市，我们将它叫做《钢铁森林》，另⼀个故事⾥，⼩男孩仍然相信了⽗亲的谎⾔并留在了村庄⾥，我们仍然给它命名为《⼀万⾸诗》。两个不⼀样的故事有不⼀样的⻛格，我们也⽆法判断究竟哪个⾛向才是我们⼼⽬中的完美结局, 因此这⼀切，就交给观众抉择吧～！
Director’s Statement： The story was inspired by a glimpse from the back window of a ride-hailing taxi in Beijing two years ago: a construction worker standing on a small bridge, tearing paper into pieces and throwing it into the river. Therefore, combined with the collective childhood memories of the creative team, the characters sprout in my mind, and the images of "poet father" and "left-behind children" gradually become clear. Therefore, two years ago, we shot a short film named "Ten Thousand Poems", hoping to tell a story about a left-behind child without tears. However, our
inexperienced attempt two years ago was not successful, and after editing, we found that the story did not seem as real as we had expected. After two years of study and re-conception, I rewrote the script for two versions, gathered the same casts and crews, and started to shoot again. The beginning of the story is the same in the two versions, but the following development is different in each story: in one story: the boy followed his father went into the city, we named it "steel forest," In another story, the little boy still believed his father and stay in the village, we still named it "ten
thousand poems." Two different stories have different styles, and we cannot judge which end is the perfect ending. Therefore, it all is left to the audience to choose ~!
