Experiencing Interruptions?

Temporal

The linear theory of time is challenged in this nonfiction essay, as a young, queer filmmaker tries to form a meaningful relationship with a deceased relative. Taking the audience through this attempt to bend time and form connections, the film uses footage from Los Angeles and New York to analyze how spaces can hold memories, even after people are gone. "Temporal" is narrated by an omniscient voice that guides the audience through this ambitious attempt to blur the lines of past and present.

Director Statement

I want to create cinema that innovates the form but is also accessible and understandable to all audiences. I want to tell new and diverse stories that matter and make an impact on every person that hears them. Filmmaking is my true calling in life and I can only hope that my career can help to inspire a new generation of storytellers.

Temporal is an incredibly personal film and being able to create it has been a true blessing. I hope that it can help others to search for and discover the meaningful stories within their own lives. The poetic nature of this film is derived from the T.S. Eliot poem "Burnt Norton" - which I always encourage audiences to read after seeing Temporal.

The analysis of space in relation to memory and identity is something that I find incredibly intriguing and Temporal is the first of several films that I wish to create that talk about this relationship.
