Director Biography - Alex Jarus, Ryan Doyle

Alex Jarus is a young independent award-winning filmmaker and semi-professional technical theater stage hand. He has so far won one award for Excellence in Sound Design for his short experimental film "Processed Sleep" at the 2014 SBS Video Festival. He began his filmmaking journey in 2011 at age 14 as an YouTube video blogger. From there he progressed from small comedy sketches into 1 to 2 minute terribly edited short films. At this point Alex decided to dive 100% into just making films, since then he has created multiple 2-6 minute short films. Alex's passion is within telling a story, whether it be through films or through a stage production. So, just remember as you watch any of his short films, "[He is] the current curator of the black trunk and the stories it holds within." (Hope Barrett) and he can't wait to share them with you.
