Writer Biography - Matt Gossen

Matt grew up in suburban Illinois where he devoured the spectacular and magical popcorn adventure films of the 80s and 90s by day, and countless irreverent sitcoms he was probably too young to be watching by night. He has since worked to honor those inspirations in his own writing. Matt got his start in animation, writing twenty episodes and contributing to over 100 more as a staff writer on the hit children’s animated series TALKING TOM AND FRIENDS. He later earned his membership to the Writers Guild of America West and received a Webby Award for his writing on the animated web series CLASH-A-RAMA, where he also served as story editor. He went on to contribute rewrites to Tolerable Entertainment’s debut animated feature, EXTINCT, starring Rachel Bloom & Adam DeVine, directed by David Silverman & Raymond Persi. More recently, he was part of the writing team for T-Mobile's 2021 Super Bowl commercial campaign. Matt continues to write film and television screenplays of his own that often focus on high concept adventures told through a grounded lens, both in the live action and animated space.
