Tempelhof
. Tempelhof removes the mass mask of the refugees and migrants to show them as individuals through their stories.
Tempelhof has two narratives. One is based on the refugees and their flight from fear, to hope, to the determined physical effort, exhaustion, and then relief they survived. The second is Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) staff interviews, which reveal the medical and social challenges faced by the refugees and migrants.
My access to the story is based on my travel from 27 April through 8 August 2017 through the Balkans to conduct interviews. I also served in Bosnia, Iraq, and Horn of Africa in the US Army.
Tempelhof is a fiscally sponsored project of the International Documentary Association (IDA), 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization. Contributions in support of Tempelhof are payable to IDA and are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Logline: In their own words, refugees and migrants tell why and how they made their painful journeys of hope to the West from the Middle East, East, and West Africa. Humanitarian workers will also speak of the challenges that face these people as they integrate into a new culture.
This project aims to challenge the growing culture of fear in the West concerning refugees and migrants. For example, the population of the USA is made up of descendants of refugees and immigrants. They came for the same range of reasons religious freedom, economic opportunity, and fleeing war or oppression that the current Refugees and Migrants have but there is a large number of people who feel the Refugees and Migrants should not be helped.
The project has two parts. One covers the route from Greece to Berlin used by Refugees and Migrants. The second part covers the route used from Libya to Italy and then to Berlin. The project has evolved to be more about integration than the physical journey.
