Ignacio Decerega is a Panamenian born film-maker and historian. He lives and works in Mexico since 1992, focusing on human rights and the environment, specially as related to environmental justice and water issue. His films deal with human rights and justice, racism and discrimination as well as the regional scourge of illegal migration.With Rocio Zambrano he is founder of Cuadrante Films, an independent production compnay out of Mexico with strategic alliances in Chile and the United States. He has taught film at various universities in Chile and Mxico. He is a member ot the human rights collective, Solidarilabs/Skylight focusing on Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala and, most recently, in Peru. He is the founder of Caravana Mesoamericana del Agua collective which focuse on water and envorionmental issues in Mexico and Central America.
