When I first heard this song, I was going though a very difficult breakup. Every time I listened to it I had this vision of a studio filled with light and no one in it, but me. And it was just me doing a contemporary dance piece to the song. I felt like I was able to express myself through the movements and feel this release, even if I just imagined it. This vision helped me in the process of healing after the break up.
For the music video, I created a story behind it that is by no means accurate to a breakup up I was going through in the past, but was rather inspired by it. A story about a girl trapped in an abusive relationship. Despite the love she has for him, she knows she needs to pick herself up and be free of him. Essentially, this is my catharsis project experienced in real time.
