Patrick Rozenfeld (born November 21, 1980) is a director, writer, editor born to a Jewish family in Belgium. He has a non-fraternal twin and older brother. Since childhood, he always had a fascination for the visual world. In 2006 he received his Masters of Visual Arts from the KDG University in Antwerp, Belgium. While working for many years in the Advertising Industry as a Graphic Designer and Art Director, he realized that his true passion was creating movies, and therefore came to Los Angeles where he received his Masters of Fine Arts in filmmaking in 2018 from the New York Film Academy in Burbank, California. His main influence and motivation come straight from renown fantasy/sci-fi horror movies and his fascination of Japanese Animation which can be clearly seen in his work.
He went on to write, produce and direct multiple films like Prey (2016) and Tears of Blood (2017).
The main idea and essence behind "Tears of Blood" is to portray that nothing matters more than family.
No matter what background someone's from,
at the end family is everything one should mainly care about.
The thing is, that I didn't want to portray it as the usual drama, it's just not my type.
Since childhood I grew up watching Japanese animations,
which fascinates and influences me in many aspects of my life,
bringing me as well the idea for "Tears of Blood" in the first place, and therefore made me include the Action/Crime/Sci-Fi genres to it.
Another aspect of it, is the opportunity to intrigue the audience in giving them a realistic story while adding a small touch of Sci-Fi or Fantasy, just so they would ask themselves "what if it's actually possible?".
That aspect is for me of utmost importance when it comes in portraying my own particular vision/genre to the world.
