Taylor McFadden is a director/writer/producer whose debut feature film LOVERS, stars Angela Trimbur (Search Party) and Amelia Meath (GRAMMY Nominated Sylvan Esso), with original music by Executive Producer Nathaniel Rateliff (SNL, Palmer, Jimmy Fallon). She is known for directing music videos and branded content, working in collaborations with brands like Gibson Guitars and artists including Jaime Wyatt and Nicole Atkins. She has been featured in publications such as FORBES, Rolling Stone, BUST magazine, and Pitchfork, and was named one of the “Five Artists to Watch in 2025” by Westword magazine. Taylor is the Co-Founder of the production company I Play Different, whose mission is to center female-driven storytelling in both the documentary and narrative spaces. Her last short film Loose Ends won the Rising Star Award at the Canada International Film Festival. She got her start as the art and fashion director for FM Magazine, creating editorials and large-scale performance art events that included live music paired with designers and visual artists. This led her to New York City where she worked as a production and set designer on feature films and music videos. In 2014 she moved to Istanbul Turkey, as the direct assistant to acclaimed filmmaker Bahman Ghobadi (Camera d’Or winner at Cannes Film Festival). She has studied the craft of filmmaking with great teachers such as the late Elizabeth Kemp (Actors Studio), Judith Weston (Directing Actors), and Joan Scheckel (Filmmaking Lab). In her career she has written, directed, and produced, short and feature narrative films, branded content, experimental films, music videos, and is currently in development on her second feature film. Taylor is passionate about telling stories that expose the uniqueness of our human experience, and help us better understand each other and the world around us.
