Ko Man Hei (Hong Kong, 2000) is an emerging artist concentrated in video art, photography and installation. She studied visual arts at Hong Kong Baptist University. Her practice is usually related to Hong Kong’s local community.
Ko Man Hei has been interested in the relationship between truth and time. She ponders if there is absolute truth when values and norms change from time to time. Her works usually flow between the grey area of truth and false, illusion and reality.
Ko focused on the transformation of the local community in Hong Kong. Recently, she responded to the emigration wave in Hong Kong. She looks for her Hong Kong identity by researching the history and idioms, and recording the temporary cityscape to reconstruct her memories.
