Tara is the second of four children and grew up in Bountiful, Utah. Her father Ken worked as a general contractor and architect. Her mother Carolyn was a stay at home mom and office manager for an OB/GYN. Tara's 2 sisters and brother are all educators. Tara grew up with a love of theatre and ballet. She attended BYU for 2 years with an acting scholarship. In 2018 she started going to The Actor's Lounge with award winning writer, director, producer and teacher Rob Diamond. She landed one of the leading roles in her first feature film as Janice Roberts in Our Father's Keeper (2019). In 2020 she had a supporting role as April Shimmers in Lucy Shimmers and The Prince of Peace. Tara loves being able to tell stories through the characters she plays. "Nice can be fake; kindness is genuine."

Tara studied ballet for 10 years and has also taught and choreographed dance. She is the author of a series of children's books: Scarlett Loves Cartwheels, Scarlett Loves Dancing and Scarlett Loves Skateboarding.
