General Rules and Terms & Conditions for the Tanzanite Festival
General Rules

Eligibility

The festival is open to all filmmakers, animators, and studios, both local and international.
Entries must be original works of the submitter and must not infringe upon any copyrights or rights of any third parties.

Submission Guidelines

All submissions must be made through the official submission platform.
Each entry must include a completed submission form, a preview copy of the animation, and any required supporting materials.
Submission deadlines must be adhered to; late entries will not be accepted.

Categories

Entries must be submitted under the appropriate category:

Technical Requirements

Submitted animations must be in a format specified by the festival (e.g., MP4, MOV).
Animations should be provided in high definition (HD) quality.

Language

Non-English and non-Swahili entries must include English subtitles.
French-language entries must include English subtitles, if applicable.

Screening Rights

By submitting an animation, entrants grant Tanzanite Festival the right to screen their film at the festival and use excerpts for promotional purposes.

Selection Process

All entries will be reviewed by a selection committee. The decision of the committee is final.
Selected films will be notified by the date specified by the festival.

Attendance

While not mandatory, filmmakers are encouraged to attend the festival.
Tanzanite Festival does not cover travel or accommodation costs unless explicitly stated.

Terms & Conditions

Intellectual Property

The submitter must hold all necessary rights to the submitted work and is responsible for any claims regarding copyright infringement or unauthorized use.

Indemnity

The submitter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Tanzanite Festival, its affiliates, and partners from any claims, liabilities, losses, or damages arising out of the submission and screening of the animation.

Usage Rights

By submitting, the entrant grants Tanzanite Festival the right to use the film, images, and other materials provided for promotional purposes, both online and offline during the Festival period and post festival.

Disqualification

Tanzanite Festival reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet the submission requirements or violates any of the rules or terms.

Modifications

Tanzanite Festival reserves the right to make changes to the festival dates, venue, awards, and rules. Entrants will be notified of any changes.
Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising from participation in Tanzanite Festival shall be governed by the laws of Tanzania.

Agreement

By submitting an entry to Tanzanite Festival, the entrant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all the above rules, terms, and conditions.
