Tanja Jurkovic is an early career researcher in Film, TV and Media studies, holding a PhD (from the University of East Anglia) in Balkan cinema and Horror genre, looking at specific relationships between Balkan countries affected by social, political and cultural issues (focusing on Croatia and Serbia), as well as their identity, seen and analyzed through the lens of horror films. Her other interests include metal music studies, Grand – Guignol, representation of mental illnesses and disorders in horror, transmedia storytelling, filmmaking, video, and music production.
Tanja has also worked on a few of film sets as a BTS photographer, video production assistant and lighting assistant, which was a valuable practice-based experience through which she fell in love with filmmaking and production even more.
Her recent work includes BTS Video Production, costume design and makeup on music video set for a UK band Memoriam, and other creative sets, in collaboration with Eulogy Media, UK.
