Our first time writing and making a music video on our own terms, written by the band and the animator, we're really proud of "Necessary Evil".
Inspired by Kubrick's Space Odyssey, this animated epic adventure begins at the dawn of humanity and into the future, where 2 hapless musicians are sent into deep space to answer the call of the Monolith and find the meaning of life.
The band listed Radiohead's Paranoid Android as a reference for how they wanted this video to feel when combined with the music. Their song "Necessary Evil" is driving and melancholic, and the goal was to juxtapose that with a colorful and epic satirical take on billionaires buying their way to space. Combine that with some of our favorite sci-fi as inspiration and the result is a humorous commentary on technology, progress, and human nature.
