Tales of Sunshine - "The Mermaid"
Through a meditative journey into the depths of Florida ecology, Tales of Sunshine observes the intimate and inspiring stories of four naturalists during the height of COVID-19. Explore the subtropical web of environmental justice with a conservation biologist, an ex-convict fisherman, a mermaid activist and a farm worker coalition leader.
In this episode, Professional Mermaid Michelle Colson glides through crystal clear water identifying Florida's abundant natural springs. Mermaids need water though, and Michelle recently discovered plans by the Nestlé corporation to tap into the state's freshwater reserves. Now her passionate power of protection supports local grassroots groups in preserving their natural resource.
