Tal Levy was born in Jerusalem (1995). In 2021 she graduated from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem- the Fine Arts Department. Currently, she is studying for a combined SVA and Tel Aviv University MFA as part of the Department of Documentary Cinema and Television.
Levy’s work deals with mental health. She looks at what we as a society call ' healthy' and refers to the stigma mental disorders might have. Her work explores social morality and the gaps between object and subject, individual and society. She only photographs people she spends time with, choosing not to observe others from the side but to dive in. I want to reveal sincerity to emotion, laughter, and feeling of the truth within the medium. This is what drives me. I do it when the medium is self-aware (ars poetica) and reflexive.
Levy’s film Abandonment Anxiety was screened at TLV fest, an international students' film festival at Tel Aviv Cinematheque
