**FIRST short film made in Ireland using virtual production**

Despite its beauty and its vitality, Galway is also famous for it's annoyingly abundant rainfall. In this film we envision a reality where Galway's lush landscapes are an arid desert and rain is a forgotten fairy tale. Unreal Engine (game building software) was used to create a virtual set with iconic areas of Galway city. Camera movements were then captured using an HTC Vive (virtual reality hardware) in a greenscreen studio with 6 tones of sand to recreate a desert floor.

The film draws attention to the importance and value of our natural environment. The audience should feel an appreciation for Galway’s current climate and a healthy concern for how climate change might affect us in future.
