Director Biography - Lucien Theodore Knotter IV

Lucien Knotter is a writer, director, TV producer, and animator. He is a graduate of Chapman University, where he earned a BFA in Film Production ('08) and an MFA in Screenwriting ('11). For the better part of a decade he has been working in reality television as a story and field producer on such shows as "Vegas Cakes" (S1), "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" (S3), and "Celebrity Wife Swap" (S4). Most recently, he has been working as a senior associate producer for Gaia Inc. in Louisville, CO, where he has produced on the shows "Disclosure with Dr. Steven Greer" (S1), "Psychedelica" (S2), and the upcoming "Ancient Civilizations" (S4).

In 2011, he won first place in the Scriptapaloza TV writing contest for his "30 Rock" spec, "Social Network Revolution." From 2018 to 2020 he developed and wrote the first season of a live action sci-fi adventure TV show, "Galaxy Detective," for a Chinese television company, that hopes to go into production in the near future.

"Take Me To Your Bacon" is Lucien's first foray into animation. Made for and released online, the series was meant to be testing ground for him to learn how to animate, something he had no prior experience in, but hopes to one day make a career of. To date, he has created almost 50 videos (3+ hours of animated content) for "Take Me To Your Bacon," including supplementary materials, behind the scenes videos, cast interviews, and companion show called "TMTYB Treats," where he breaks down each episode with his animated cast over Zoom.

Director Statement

Hi, I'm Lucien. During the pandemic I found myself with a lot of free time on my hands. I decided to use that time to learn something new. I've always wanted to write for animated television and with animating programs becoming more user friendly I felt like it was an opportunity to let loose and make my own show about the things that interest me, mainly alien mythology, conspiracies, and silly comedy. All I can say is, thank the gods for YouTube tutorials. Man, you can learn anything on that site!
