Born in Lebanon in 1990, Marie-Louise – mainly known as Malou – got through her school years thanks to movies and writing.
A screenwriter, director and editor, Marie-Louise is passionate about movies and creating them.
She studied Cinema, Film Directing and Screenwriting in both Lebanon (Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts – ALBA) and New York (New York Film Academy).
Marie-Louise wrote and directed several short fiction films like ‘Di Meliora’ (2013) and ‘Beirut in Black & White’ (2012) and a couple of short documentaries.
In September 2014, she was selected among the editing talents of the Berlinale Talents, held in Beirut.
Marie-Louise also collaborated in many cinematographic projects varying from documentaries to short fictions, as an editor or writer.
In the meantime, she writes short stories and she’s working on her first feature screenplay that won the second most promising screenplay prize at the Cinemaiyat Film Festival (2016).
