Director Statement

The inspiration for this film came from my own experience when, after living in many different cities, I finally landed in a small but welcoming community on the Chesapeake Bay that had all of the elements I needed to feel fulfilled in my environment, as well as in my creative life. When I realized I had found MY True North here, I began to explore what that concept might mean for others and discovered that the key to finding one’s True North is to find relevance and belonging in a world where divisiveness and othering have become so commonplace. The veterans in our pilot episode exemplify that experience. Our goal is to document the stories of others who have found their True North and share their stories, providing inspiration for viewers to seek and find their own True North.
