Experiencing Interruptions?

TREE 360°

TREE 360° is a poetic, empathic movement into what is called a tree-being. On a swaying, time-stretched, treelike rhythm, one can experience flowing, vibrant or interrupted lifeforce. Embodied tree-ingness. Tree-essence stripped out by stepping 'in'. Seemingly boundaries of nature gradually dissolve and invite us to connect deeper with the ’stuff’ we are all made of.
Honoring interbeingness as a silent (R)evolution into other ways of meeting and relating.

Director Biography - Alda Snopek

Alda Snopek studied film - and audiovisual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Ghent (KASK). After a narrative and performative approach of the medium film, she created a unique method of transformative abstraction in video-installation art by animating and digitally manipulating photographic images.

Details of topographic, macroscopic and aireal viewings are transformed into hybrid matter-scapes in which animal-, earth-, and cosmic like elements  converge into magic merging. These slowly morphing, shrinking and expanding organisms, can be interpreted as an attempt to map the interconnectivity of life-forms, their transformative forces and their constant exchange of substance, information and energy.

Director Statement

The boundaries of nature and the surface of an image are subtly explored and re-imagined by layered perspectives and time-stretching rhythms. This can be perceived as an act of silent (r)evolution and invitation for re-connection, in a world lacking of time, space and empathy towards other ways of being and seeing.
